SAFA Driving Academy was founded on a simple idea: every new driver deserves calm, patient instruction from someone who actually wants them to succeed. Over 20 years and 1,000+ students later, that's still how we teach.
Our story
SAFA Driving Academy is an MTO-approved driving school based in Oshawa, Ontario, serving the wider Durham Region. We've trained over a thousand students across more than two decades — first-time drivers, nervous beginners, and adults coming back to driving after long breaks.
Our approach is calm and structured. Lessons start in low-pressure settings, gradually move into real traffic, and finish with the exact habits examiners expect during a G2 or G road test. We don't teach to the test — we teach safe driving for life, and the test takes care of itself.
We are an MTO-approved school, which means our Beginner Driver Education course meets the Ministry's curriculum standards. Students who complete our BDE may be eligible to take the G2 road test sooner, and may also be eligible for an insurance discount depending on their insurer.
